Nida Beyoğlu Arslan, BonaBant Chairman of the Board: By investing in an Italian full automatic slicing line;Our products have become very high quality and we have reset our waste rates.BonaBant produces adhesive transparent tape (scotch tape) in jumbo bobbins by processing the imported adhesive duct tapes together with the adhesive glue produced in the bio-oriente polypropylene film facility. makes wholesale and retail sales of colored and transparent duct tape in different sizes.We talked to BonaBant Chairman Nida Beyoğlu Arslan about the agenda and recent investments of the brand, which has an annual production capacity of 500 tons.BonaBant, which started its activities in the duct tape sector in Mersin in 2018 under the umbrella of Aykut Gıda packaging, continues its production as Turkey's 1st acrylic producer company.As the BonaBant brand, which was established with an investment of 3 million dollars and I am the chairman of the board of directors, we continue our activities intensively during the pandemic period.Among our services, we have the desired size of bobbin sizing, the supply of glued-glueless BOPP film bobbins (1.60 cm and 1.28 cm), as well as wholesale and retail sales of colored and transparent duct tape in various sizes.We have an annual production capacity of 500 tons.We employ 45 personnel in our production unit.Among our product range;duct tape, acrylic tape, printed tape, hotmelt tape, stretch, jumbo bobbin.Although we are a company that provides services mainly in B2B, we also sell to the end user through e-commerce sites, with a focus on online sales.In the online sales channel, our products are available on Aliexpress, Amazon, Hepsiburada, N11 and Trendyol.Adhesive duct tapes, which are currently imported to our country from abroad, are processed together with the adhesive glue we produce in our bio-orientated polypropylene film facility, and adhesive transparent tape (scotch tape) is produced in jumbo bobbins.Unfortunately, the Turkish tape industry uses old technologies that are insufficient in processing raw materials, and therefore products were sold at higher prices.Therefore, there is a situation of foreign dependency as a sector.We took a step in this regard and started to follow a path like this;First of all, we buy the product, glue it in our production center and cut people's dependence on foreign sources.In other words, we cut the way for imports.As Jumbo, we have nearly 80 customers.All of them were related to import and later they started to prefer us.We first started with transparent colorless tape, then we started to produce tapes in various colors with the demands of the market.At the same time, we found a place for ourselves in the foreign market in a short time and took a confident stance.Later on, we bought a fully automatic machine and our goal of increasing both the market and exports began.When ordering at import, the product arrives in an average of 40 days and you have to pay most of the order you place.For example, you ordered 10 containers of products and it costs about 250 thousand dollars.You have to pay 30 percent of it.In other words, you do not have money and you are constantly paying out.You face an extra cost in cases such as customs costs, taxes.Apart from that, when ordering products for imports, you have to order above a certain volume.Since we work with stock, we deliver the product within 3 days at the latest.We can take product orders without any limitations.However, we save companies from many extra costs.This causes us to be preferred in the sector.Acting with this understanding, we want to set a barrier in front of imports.We are a very young but very experienced brand.Although 2018 was the foundation year of our brand, our awareness in the sector started to increase in 2019.However, the COVID-19 pandemic, which emerged at the end of 2019, adversely affected many sectors around the world.However, this pandemic has also created some opportunities for some sectors.You may remember that in the period when the pandemic first appeared, people, especially in the markets, started to shop intensively and stock up on products from the markets.In line with the increasing consumption needs, an intense production and packaging need emerged in the companies.As a company, we continued our work in 3 shifts to meet the intense demand in this period.For this reason, although 2020 was a year in which we showed growth momentum for our company, we encountered some disruptions due to the need for raw materials, which are experienced throughout the world and affect almost every sector.When we say glitch here, we actually encountered hikes in raw material prices by almost one hundred percent.However, in line with our planned strategies, we have provided timely deliveries without making any of our brands suffer.In 2020, we exported to England, Germany, Azerbaijan, America, Iraq, Tunisia and Iran.
